Day 1: Mombasa/Diani – Tsavo East National Park

Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel at 7:00 am. Drive along the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway, entering Tsavo East National Park through Bachuma Gate. Begin your game drive immediately, exploring the park’s wide-open savannah and spotting elephants, lions, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and other incredible wildlife.

Arrive at your safari lodge or camp in time for lunch and check-in. After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive to search for the Big Five and other fascinating species. Tsavo East is Kenya’s largest park, spanning over 13,000 km², and offers breathtaking sceneries including Mudanda Rock, Aruba Dam, and vast acacia plains.

You’ll also see the park’s famous red elephants, colored by the red volcanic soil of Tsavo. Bird lovers can spot over 500 species, including ostriches, kestrels, and migratory buzzards.

Return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay at one of the following lodges or camps:

Day 2: Tsavo East – Mombasa/Diani

Begin your day with an early morning game drive at 6:15 am, a perfect time to watch predators in action and enjoy the sunrise over the Tsavo plains. Return for breakfast at 8:30 am, followed by check-out.

Enjoy a final game drive as you leave the park, then stop for lunch at Impala Safari Lodge. After lunch, drive back to Mombasa or Diani Beach, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening—a perfect end to your Kenya short safari experience.
